I was meant to get the ball rolling on this blog thing over a month ago.  I was rearing and ready to go but you know that little annoying imposter in your head that tells you all sorts?  Yeah that one!  Well, little annoying imposter came along and told me all sorts that l decided maybe this blogging thing is not meant for me, silly l know.  Anyways, l have decided l am not going to listen to that annoyance anymore and dive right in, take a chance as this life is a once in a lifetime opportunity that you cannot get back once that time is up.

Hi, my name is Lynett and l am the maker aka 'the little fairy' behind LynsAvenue.  I make all things by myself, in my home studio in Melbourne, Australia.  I am championed and supported by my two precious girls and awesome husband.  I am a Social worker by day and sewer by night, making mostly quilted stuff, some hair scrunchies and headbands.  I have an insane addiction to fabric and can happily spend all day in a fabric shop just ogling, touching and maybe(most likely) buying some fabric.  l only need a teensy bit of encouragement and l will shop up, ask my 7yr old and she will tell you that one word is enough to make mama buy fabric.  I have recently discovered destash groups on the world wide web too and l am constantly scrolling through ogling at fabrics and talking myself out of buying said fabric. I am now trying really hard to not buy anymore fabric and use up what l have on hand, very hard to do but doable.  I am actually finding so much joy in seeing life breathed into these fabrics turning them into some lovely makes.

I have always wanted to start a blog as l tend to have some random thoughts and conversations in my head that l thought would maybe benefit by me just putting them somewhere and out of my head.  My intentions with this blog are to write about my quilt pattern writing journey as l tend to have a lot of those head mind conversations as l go along.  Write up more about my quilt pattern as they are released and other random thoughts that come up as l travel this life journey, most tend to be about sewing or fabric.  How often, that is still up for debate but l will try to update on a regular basis.

So, welcome to my world and thanks for stopping by.

Hi everyone and welcome to my little corner of the world.  I have started this blog as a way to share and connect with all things sewing and creating.   With the launch of my very first quilt pattern called Centred, l thought why not start that blog you have been wanting to start for a while too.  So, here l am, fumbling for the first words to write down but chugging along all the way.  Looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me.

Thanks for stopping by and remember to say hi in comments below.

    About

Welcome and thanks for stopping by.  My name is  Lynett and l am the maker aka 'the little fairy' behind LynsAvenue.  Watching my mother sew, crotchet and knit ignited in me a love for the craft from a very young age.  My passion for sewing and love for all things fabric grew even more following the birth of my first baby girl (I now have two precious girls) and LynsAvenue was born.  I just love the simple pleasures of cutting up fabric and find joy breathing new life into it by creating something new and enjoyable.  My overall goal is to create items that anyone can feel confident making or using either as a piece of art in your home or on your person.
