Side by Side Quilt - the Cover Quilt

Side by Side Quilt - the Cover Quilt

I’m excited to share with you that the newest LynsAvenue quilt pattern is now available - welcome to Side by Side!

Side by Side quilt pattern is a design that is very close to my heart. Inspired by the connections we make in our day to day lives. Connections with family, friends, colleagues that can be long lasting, only for a season or brief encounters that leave a footprint in our lives; not only ours but those we connect with. The connected hearts linked side by side is a representation of these relationships.

A little bit more about the Side by Side quilt

  • Two lay-out options
  • Quilt pattern is quick and easy to put together
  • Two colour or Scrappy colour option
  • Downloadable PDF
  • Pattern comes in three sizes: Baby, Throw and Bed
  • Templates for curved pieces included

I made two samples for this launch to showcase the two layout options and today l’m excited to share the design that represent those connections we made that lasts a lifetime. Whatever these connections look like to you, e.g family, friends, partners our forever people in our lives.

This cover sample is the Throw version which finishes at 60" x 70" with a simple heart block cleverly laid side by side in a visually appealing way. Fabrics used for this sample are all Kona solids in Emerald, Pomegranate on an Ivory background; a match made in heaven.

I love sewing curves and this one comes together so fast you’ll have a quilt top done in no time at all. If you’re new to curves, l have a tutorial to help you with sewing these fun curved blocks here and here.

To finish this quilt, l decided to go all out with my quilting. The design has plenty of negative space perfect for all that beautiful quilting. I gave free motion quilting another go after being scared of it for a while. I went with a simple meander design and l just love how the quilt turned out. It just took the quilt to a whole new level. I love this part of the quilting journey for all it represents; coming to the end of the project with the final stamp to bring it to life and l’m glad l decided to free motion quilt.

I fall more in love with this design each time l see it and l can’t wait to see what you make with the Side by Side quilt pattern.
